Pet Spot: Kuro the cat loves to climb

Susan Williams of Arnold submitted a photo of her grandcat, Kuro, for Pet Spot.

For Kuro, this pose is not unusual, Susan Williams of Arnold said.

“He is striking a pose up on a high shelf in the kitchen,” she said. “You never know where you will find him. But he is usually hanging around somewhere interesting. He likes to climb.”

She said Kuro, a 1-year-old black cat, is her granddaughter Ava’s pet and they live in Webster Groves. Ava and Kuro visit her at her Arnold home on occasion.

She said Kuro is a curious cat.

“He’s very outgoing,” Williams said. “He’s very inquisitive and a very friendly. He’s pretty fearless.”

She said the name Kuro comes from a different language.

“Kuro is the Japanese word for ‘black,’” she said.

She said Kuro is a valued member of her family.

“He’s just a great kitty,” Williams said.
