When Carol Weiss recently brought out her autumn decor, her cat, Kissa, couldn’t stay away from it. Weiss took this photo of Kissa, a 2-year-old black cat, in her Antonia home.
“I got out my fall decorations and she decided to lay on them,” Weiss said.
Kissa also is enamored with Weiss.
“She follows me everywhere. She’s my shadow,” Weiss sad. “She’s inquisitive.”
Weiss said she adopted Kissa from Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs.
Then, she said she followed a family tradition when she named her.
“Kissa is Finnish for ‘cat,’” Weiss said. “We’ve had other cats. They’ve all been named cat in different languages, except for our other cat we have now, Mucho Dinero.
“Mucho Dinero is a Calico, about 8. She was a feral cat. Kissa and Mucho Dinero get along. It took a while, but they’re pals now.”
Kissa has one bad habit, Weiss said.
“Whoever had her as a baby must have fed her off the table, because at dinnertime she thinks she’s going to eat with us,” she said. “But, she doesn’t get to.”
