Cate Perry of Festus sent in this photo of her calico cat, Jersey, depicting what looks like a tranquil Christmas scene, but pictures can be deceiving.
“(She) is in front of the Christmas tree right before she knocked it over and broke all the ornaments,” Perry said. “She likes to knock over Christmas trees. She’s done it before. I have four cats. Their goal is to knock over the Christmas tree each year.”
Jersey, 7, rules the roost, Perry said.
“They all get along really well,” she said. “They’re snuggly and good friends. But, we call Jersey ‘Queen of the Household.’ She the oldest cat and kind of runs the household. We also call her our ‘model cat’ because she’s pretty and she knows it.”
Jersey chooses when the family is allowed to pet her.
“She is affectionate, but it’s on her own terms,” Perry said. “She’ll sleep in our bed and that’s when she wants to snuggle.”
