“We’re diehard fans of Duke University,” Wagner said. “We didn’t go to school there. My husband’s just been a fan since high school or college. We went to see Duke play and had to bring Penelope home some swag, too.”
Wagner said Penelope is a rescue dog the family adopted about six years ago.
“We’re guessing she’s 8 or 9,” Wagner said.
She said Penelope enjoys wearing garments.
“She loves her clothes,” Wagner said. “She mostly just wears a pair of pajamas or costumes at holidays.”
Penelope is demanding, but has a good personality, Wagner said.
“She’s a brat, because she’s spoiled rotten,” Wagner said. “She’s so affectionate to us. She’s very protective of us.”
The family also has a cat.
“We have a kitty named Pepper,” Wagner said. “The kitty would like to be friends, but Penelope just tolerates her.”
