Dave Lueck’s Cardinals baseball-loving family named their beagle-basset hound mix, Yadi, after one of their favorite players, Yadier Molina.
“I’ve been a baseball player since I was 6 and we’re a baseball family,” Lueck said. “The Cardinals, obviously, hold a special place in our hearts. We could have gone with Carp (for Matt Carpenter) or Waino (for Adam Wainwright), but my wife, Robin, is a big Yadier Molina fan.”
Here is Yadi the dog, now 8, in an April 2017 photo taken at the Lueck family’s De Soto home.
Yadi is a “curious” dog, Lueck said.
“He’s a very mischievous dog and a very loving dog,” Lueck added.
Yadi likes to play with the family’s other pet.
“He’s got a younger sibling dog, Freya, and she’s able to pull a little puppy out of him,” Lueck said. “Freya is a blue heeler mix. She’s about 5.”
Lueck said his family enjoys their dog, Yadi.
“Everybody should have a dog like Yadi,” he said.
