Bonnie Williams of Barnhart says her family’s dog, Cookie, rules the house.
Cookie, who is almost 7, is a Chiweenie (part Chihuahua, part dachshund).
“She is queen of the household,” Williams said. “She gets what she wants when she wants it. My husband, Rod, works from home and if he works too long, she’ll get between him and his computer.”
Cookie stays active, Williams said.
“She enjoys walking, camping, chasing squirrels – she hasn’t caught one yet, but that doesn’t stop her – barking at imaginary objects, as well as neighbors,” Williams said.
Cookie also likes “snacks, snuggles and posing for cute pictures,” Williams said. “She is very playful.”
Williams said Cookie appears to be learning some English.
“She is always ready to go for a walk – she knows what the word ‘walk’ means,” Williams said. “She is always on the hunt for squirrels. She also knows that word, ‘squirrel.’ She always want to chase them.”
Williams said Cookie comes from Oregon.
“She was found wandering on a farm in Oregon, where we’re originally from,” she said.
