“For Christmas, they get a Christmas sweater or a tie,” she said. “It doesn’t seem to bother them much.”
The dogs more or less get along, she added.
“They kind of tolerate each other,” Hendrickson said. “We had Sassy first. We work a lot and thought she might like a playmate. They play a little bit.”
They also can bother one another, though, Hendrickson said.
“They tease each other,” she said. “One could take a toy or a treat and the other will try to take it away.”
The rat terriers display great energy.
“They’re fun dogs,” Hendrickson said. “They are active dogs. They take a toy and play with it. Sassy will shake a toy like she’s trying to kill a rat. That’s what they’re bred for.”
