Buddy, shown in a 2017 photo with the sun at his back, was happiest when he could roam around the Hughes family’s property in Dittmer. He is shown here in the family’s backyard.
“He liked to be outdoors,” Claire Hughes said. “He was playful. We live on 30 acres, so he would run around.”
Buddy, a Lab/Great Pyrenees mix, was a rescue animal from Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs.
Sadly, he died in January. He was 12 or 13, Hughes estimates.
“He was very friendly,” she said. “He got along with other pets and people. He was a good family pet.”
