Donna Bahr of Festus kisses Stymee, the families Boston terrior who lived to about 10.

Kenny Bahr of Festus took this photo of his wife, Donna, kissing Stymee many years ago, when the dog was 4. Stymee was a female Boston terrier.

“She lived to about 10,” Donna Bahr said. “She died the night before Thanksgiving a few years back. She was a great dog.”

The Bahrs have long been Boston terrier fans.

“We have two Boston terriers now – Betty and Wilma,” she said. “When we had Stymee, we also had Spanky. All have been female.

“Boston terriers are very smart. They’re family-oriented. They like to touch you all the time. When Kenny took this picture, Stymee was so happy.”

She said Stymee had a terrific personality.

“She was a clown,” Donna Bahr said. “She’d do anything to make you laugh.”

She said she prefers female dogs.

“I like females’ dispositions,” she said.
