John Vezeau of Cedar Hill served with the Air Force from 1980 to 1988.

“John worked for the White House Communications Agency from 1981 to 1988,” says his wife, Colleen, who submitted photos of his service days. “The WHCA is responsible for providing communication support for the president, vice president, White House staff and the Secret Service, both in the U.S. and abroad.

During his time in the Air Force, some of Vezeau’s duties included setting up microphones and other audio equipment for state dinners, press conferences and other official functions at the White House, as well as locations worldwide.

“One of the more interesting parts of the job was being able to travel on Air Force Two with Vice President (George H.W. Bush) and Mrs. Bush and to learn firsthand what amazing people they were,” he says.

“Visiting different states and countries was a dream come true.”

Vezeau’s father, the late Henry Vezeau, served with the Army in Korea. John Vezeau’s son-in-law, Tony, now serves with the Marines.

Vezeau and his wife are the parents of Matthew and Samantha and the grandparents of Kierstyn and Blake.
