The strange waft in the air Wednesday (March 7) in the Festus High School gym wasn't from some old socks left laying around -- the donkeys were in town, to provide some atmosphere in a donkey basketball game to benefit Project Prom, a supervised lock-in to be held following the school's prom.
The Festus Intermediate School honor choir, led by Joshua Rhine, provided the entertainment, and Superintendent Link Luttrell won (?) a fundraising contest for the right to kiss one of the critters.
