It’s once again time to close out the old year and ring in the new. What better way to start off 2022 than by spending time with family and friends? Of course, you can’t have get-togethers without some tasty food and drinks.
Here are two great recipes sure to please your guests, and they’re so simple to prepare. The Ranch Cheese Ball is great because you can make it the night before to save time on the big day. However, you’ll want to serve the Chili Cheese Bake warm. You can pop it into the microwave for a minute to reheat if you’re taking it with you to a party away from home.
Both make a lot of servings and taste even better with your favorite beverage. Happy New Year!
CHILI CHEESE BAKE
1 can chili with no beans
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (8-ounce) package shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)
Large corn chips, tortilla chips or crackers
In an oven-safe dish, first layer cream cheese, then chili and finally cheddar cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until warmed throughout and cheese is melted.
Sprinkle with cilantro (if used) and serve with chips or crackers.
RANCH CHEESE BALL
1 package dry ranch-style salad dressing mix
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
4-ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1 (3-ounce) package real bacon bits
With mixer or by hand, stir together the dressing mix and cream cheese. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and mix thoroughly.
Roll into a ball and roll cheese ball in the pecans and bacon bits. Wrap cheese ball in plastic wrap.
Refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving. Serve with your favorite crackers.
