Eleven Lone Dell Elementary School students from teacher Kathy Vance’s sixth-grade class recently donated hats they made this school year.
They are Brinley Willembrock, Addison Lynch, Layne Fiala, Gabby Waltman, Kiley Turner, Bella Schnable, Taylor Faifer, Angelina Sagitto, Emily Billington, Madison Palme and Samantha Tordilla.
Vance taught the girls how to make the hats, using yarn and looms, and they enjoyed it so much they’ve made “hundreds” of them,” Lone Dell principal Luann Domek said.
She said the girls donated some of the hats to the Arnold Kiwanis Club for the Festival of Lights Giving Fair, held Sunday at the Fox C-6 Service Center. The club gave away hats to people who attended the event.
In addition, the girls donated some of the hats to the Siteman Cancer Center to give to patients there, Domek said.
Lone Dell Elementary, which is in the Arnold area, is part of the Fox C-6 School District.
