Windsor High School freshman Gabby McNabb is a finalist in the fifth annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition.

McNabb, a hip hop dancer, was one of 13 acts selected to perform in the competition, to be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the Fabulous Fox, 527 N. Grand Blvd., St. Louis.

The performance is open to the public. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Tickets may be acquired at no charge through the Fabulous Fox’s box office and Metrotix.

Finalists will compete for $30,000 in scholarships, prizes and awards, as well as other performance opportunities. The act that wins the “Audience Choice Award” will take home a $1,000 cash prize.

McNabb is the only teen who attends a Jefferson County school to make it to the final competition. She was one of 39 acts that competed in the semifinal round of the competition on March 28. The semifinalists had been narrowed from a field of 148 acts that registered for the competition.

The finalists include singers, musicians and dancers. Performers will be judged on technical ability, stage presence, interpretation and originality. Judges have backgrounds in film, TV and Broadway.

The final performances will be aired on the Nine Network.

The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation sponsors the talent competition.
