Festus Mayor Sam Richards recognized numerous Festus High School athletes for their achievements at over the past school year.

On June 27, he presented a framed certificate to the track and field team for their success during the 2022 season.

Richards presented a similar award to the varsity baseball team for its various championship wins. He also recognized varsity baseball coach Jeff Montgomery, who was named the baseball Regional Radio’s Dream Team baseball coach of the year, as well as Hayden Bates who was named shortstop of the year.

He also gave an award to Jacob Meyers, a 2022 graduate who was named the athlete of the year by J-98 Regional Radio and holds a spot on the dream team. Meyers is the first FHS athlete to win four events at the state track meet in one year.
