The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of three cell phones delivered to a home on Winter Lake Boulevard in unincorporated Fenton. The three iPhone 11s, which were stolen June 25, were valued at $2,547, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

On June 30, the victim called deputies to his home and told them he had received a package from Sprint five days earlier, after ordering the phones from the company. He said when he opened the package, there were no phones inside, although boxes to return his old phones were, the report said.

The man said he figured the phones would arrive later. However, when he called Sprint on June 30 to check on them, he was told the phones should have already arrived. He again examined the box that had been delivered on June 25 and realized the bottom had been cut and resealed with tape, according to the report.

As of July 6, the stolen phones had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
