The 2020 Pevely Days festival scheduled for Aug. 14-15 has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Stephanie Haas has announced.
Park board members regretted having to cancel the event, said Haas, who also serves on the Pevely Park Board.
She said it was a difficult decision, especially since the park board and other volunteers have worked hard to bring back the event in recent years.
However, the board felt compelled to call off the festival for the safety of the general public and city employees,. Haas said.
“Absolutely, we intend to bring Pevely Days back in 2021,” she added. “In 2020, depending on the status of COVID, we still could hold events later in the year.”
