Eureka has a reported 49 positive cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, with 29 of those cases at Marymount Manor, Mayor Sean Flower announced today (April 22) in a Facebook post.

“Marymount has followed all CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and other guidelines/laws, and has reported information as required to all agencies and families,” he said. “I have spoken with Marymount regularly, and am reporting this information in coordination with them.”

Marymount, 313 Augustine Road, in Eureka is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community with residential-care apartments. The center has 130 beds, which range from rehabilitative care to long-term care, according to its website.

Flower said the outbreak at the facility is “contained and well supervised.”

“I can say that there has been a great deal of success in treating those with the virus, and there has been great collaboration by the (St. Louis County Department of Public Health), medical staff on site, and local responders to both contain the virus spread and treat those there,” he said. “Marymount has done a great job dealing with the issue and working with the city and local responders.”

Marymount is part the RSP Senior Living Locations group, which is headquartered in Fenton, according to its website.

As of today, 2,417 positive cases of COVID-19 and 96 deaths have been reported in St. Louis County.

As of Tuesday (April 21), Missouri had 5,941 positive cases of the coronavirus and 189 deaths related to the disease, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The CDC reported the U.S. had 776,093 cases, including 3,396 probable cases and a total of 41,758 coronavirus-related deaths, including 5,352 probable deaths as of Tuesday.
