The Fox C-6 School District closed outdoor facilities at all its schools to the public last week in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus, Superintendent Nisha Patel said Monday (April 6).
She said facilities like playgrounds, tracks and athletic stadiums are closed to the public for the foreseeable future so the district stays in line with stay-at-home orders issued by the county and state and to follow social-distancing recommendations, which call for people to stay at least 6 feet away from others.
“We will continue to monitor this evolving situation and follow guidelines put in place,” Patel said. “We want to make sure that we are doing our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and abide by our local health official recommendations and CDC recommendations.”
Fox has been closed since March 18 because of the pandemic and will remain closed until at least April 27 because of county and state stay-at-home orders.
