A new veterinary clinic is opening in Arnold.
Pawsitive Veterinary Care will hold a grand opening event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 18 Arnold Mall.
The animal hospital and clinic will be in the space that was an Aaron’s store in the shopping plaza at Jeffco Boulevard and Hwy. 141.
The grand opening event will include tours of the clinic, pet photo stations, treats for pets and other giveaway items.
Veterinarians Kristen Dellacamera, Christina Worth and Jordan Biermann own the clinic, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The group plans to have 10 employees at the clinic.
“We were hearing from owners in the area that they are experiencing a long wait time to get an appointment,” Dellacamera said. “Arnold has really grown over the years. Our field has seen a huge increase in the number of pets owned and unfortunately a decrease in practicing veterinarians.
“We hope to close this gap. We live in or near the area and want to serve our own community. We have all worked in the area and have formed a bond with many people and their pets who live in the area.”
Dellacamera, 48, of Arnold earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002 and doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She worked for 10 years at the Veterinary Specialty Services Emergency department and eight years in private practice.
She continues to work part time in emergency services at the Veterinary Specialty Services.
Worth, 44, of south St. Louis County earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005 and doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She has worked in private practice since 2009 and has worked in emergency services at the Animal Emergency Clinic.
She currently also works in urgent care at veterinary centers in the area.
Biermann, 30, of Imperial earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2017 and doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She has worked in private practice and urgent care since graduating.
The three veterinarians have a combined 40 years of experience, and they will provide wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, surgery and preventative medicine at the clinic.
“We have all worked at several different clinics and hope to bring the best we have learned at each clinic to one location,” Dellacamera said. “We will have separate entrances for cats and dogs. We hope to make check-in and checkout an easy experience for clients. We want to focus on each client and animal as individuals and honor their individual needs. Some pet parents want to stay with their animals during exams and blood draws while others do better apart for treatments.
“We will work with the owners to make sure the needs of the owners and animals are being taken into consideration.”
