Three-vehicle crash injures six in northwestern Jefferson County

Six people, including three children and three adults, were hurt in a three-vehicle accident that took place 10:42 p.m. Wednesday (April 10) on Hwy. F at Opeechee Beach Road in the Jefferson County portion of Pacific, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Timothy G. Hulsey, 16, of Pacific was driving a 2001 Dodge Dakota south on Hwy. F and struck the rear of a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that was stopped on the highway waiting to turn left, the report said.

That collision caused the Impala to go into the northbound lane of Hwy. F, where it struck a 2001 Ford F-150 head on, according to the report.

The F-150 then ran off the left side of the road and struck an embankment, the report said.

Hulsey was not hurt, the patrol reported.

Joseph M. Lucas, 46, of Pacific was driving the Impala, and Anita L. Fessler, 67, of Catawissa was driving the F-150.

Lucas was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis County, where he was treated and released.

Fessler was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo., where she was listed in satisfactory condition on Thursday afternoon.

Four passengers in Lucas’ vehicle also were hurt. They were Mason M. Lucas, 7; Haley S. Lucas, 10; Logan J. Lucas, 11; and Tina S. Lucas, 41, all of Pacific.

All four were transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

Mason was taken to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, where he was listed in good condition on Thursday afternoon.

Haley reportedly was taken to Children’s Hospital, too, but the hospital reported Thursday afternoon it had no information on her.

Logan was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis County, where he was treated and released.

There was no information about where Tina was taken or her condition.

Five of the six involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, and it was unknown whether the sixth, Logan Lucas, was wearing one, the patrol reported.
