Thieves take front door off hinges to steal $7,450 in stuff at Eureka home

 

Several guns, a riding lawn mower, tools and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 8000 block of Twin River Road in Eureka, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The burglary occurred between 7:30 p.m. April 17 and 3 p.m. April 18.

Among the stolen items were four shotguns – a Browning 12-gauge, a Browning 12-gauge automatic, a Remington 16-gauge automatic and a Remington 12-gauge automatic – as well as two revolvers, a Toro riding mower, a 24-foot aluminum walk board, a 24-foot extension ladder, a 12-foot ladder, a collection of record albums and scrap metal, the report said.

Altogether, the items were valued at $7,450.

The thief or thieves took the front door off the hinges and threw it on the ground, according to the report.

There had been no arrests as of Wednesday (May 2), said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
