St. Louis man gets 7 years in sex abuse against three Jefferson County girls

Brian Keith Dotson, 39, of St. Louis recently was sentenced to seven years in prison for statutory rape and statutory sodomy connected to incidents between December 2000 and February 2012 and involving three Jefferson County minors, court records show.

He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced Feb. 25 by Jefferson County Div. 1 Circuit Judge Robert G. Wilkins to numerous seven-year terms. However, all the terms are to be served concurrently, or at the same time.

Also, Dotson may be released early if he successfully completes a 120-day treatment program, the report said.

In the most recent case, Dotson had sex with the teenage daughter of a De Soto-area family, according to a probable cause statement.

Those incidents happened between August 2011 and Feb. 2012, beginning when the girl was 13 and ending when she was 14, the report said.

Dotson was charged with one count of statutory rape in the second degree and three counts of statutory sodomy in the second degree, receiving seven years for each of the charges.

Between April 2001 and August 2001, he had sex with an Arnold girl younger than 17 years old and was charged with three counts of statutory rape in the second degree and three counts of statutory sodomy in the second degree. Again, he got seven years for each of the charges, court papers indicate.

In addition, in December 2000, Dotson had sex with a House Springs girl younger than 17. He was charged with one count of statutory rape in that case and received a seven-year term for that, according to the report.

Jefferson County assistant prosecutor Catherine A. Crowley handled the case.

Dotson, who had been the lead singer in a St. Louis-based hard rock band called Shattermask, currently is in the Farmington Correctional Center.
