■ iPads are the “wave of the future” for Antonia Fire Protection District and Herculaneum city government, where officials have purchased the tablet devices for all kinds of uses. “We have all the same data available as the laptop, plus we have a whole lot more,” says Glenn Nivens, assistant deputy chief at Antonia. ■ Randy Sheriff may be retiring from his superintendent’s job at the Festus R-6 School District. Then again, he might be staying on. In the meantime, the school board is interviewing candidates to potentially replace him. (Jefferson County Leader).

■ Bob Shockey, interim city administrator and police chief for Arnold, has filed a complaint with the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, claiming two City Council members have been retaliating against him. He’s the second city employee to cry foul. (Arnold-Imperial Leader).

■ Gregg Madeiros wants to open an Irish Pub, a few doors down from Frankie Gianino’s, the restaurant he owns on Imperial Main Street. He’s shooting for an April 1 opening. (Jefferson County Leader, Arnold-Imperial Leader).

■ What does Jefferson County’s park system need? Well, lots of things. But what can it afford? Dog parks. (Arnold-Imperial Leader, Jefferson County Leader).

■ How to fix the Post Office? Patrick Martin weighs in. (Jefferson County Leader, Arnold-Imperial Leader).

■ Gordon Bess offers district wrestling coverage. Jefferson County high schools qualified 33 wrestlers for the state tournament, which starts Thursday. (Arnold-Imperial Leader, Jefferson County Leader.
