James Secrease, 59, of Festus has been charged for allegedly molesting a child, according to court records.
Secrease allegedly molested a girl who was younger than 17 at his home and at a campground in Jefferson County, according to the probable-cause statement.
The incidents allegedly occurred between 2004 and 2008, and charges were filed May 30.
Secrease has been charged with one count each of second-degree statutory sodomy, a class C felony; sexual misconduct or attempted sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, a class D felony; and second-degree child molestation, a class A misdemeanor.
Also, Secrease has been ordered not to have any contact with minors, and in particular not with the victim or the victim’s family, court records show.
The maximum penalty for a class C felony is seven years in prison; for a class D felony it is four years in prison, and for a class A misdemeanor it’s one year.
