A large, commercial-grade scale recently was stolen from Fred Weber Construction in the 800 block of VFW Drive in the Festus area, says Capt. Ralph Brown of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The theft occurred between June 2 and Aug. 20.
An Ohaus Explorer Pro 22K scale, valued at $4,021, was stolen, the report said.
A quality control manager noticed the missing scale, which had been kept on a counter inside the business, according to the report.
Numerous current and former employees had access to the area where it had been kept, the report said.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday (Sept. 20), Brown said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-6467.
