Cedar Hill man gets 4-year sentence after trashing home in 2011

Michael A. Declue, 35, of Cedar Hill has been sentenced to seven years in prison on burglary charges, court records show.

He also was sentenced to four years for property damage, but the two terms are to be served concurrently.

On July 17, 2011, Declue reportedly entered a home in the Cedar Hill Estates to steal and destroy items, according to court documents.

He caused more than $750 worth of damage to electronics, furniture and flooring by cutting the items with a knife and throwing paint on them, the report said.

Declue pleaded guilty to the two felony charges and was sentenced April 23 by Jefferson County Div. 2 Circuit Judge Gary P. Kramer.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Trisha C. Stefanski handled the case.
