Heather Mullins of Arnold submitted photos of her father, Larry Boyce, 75, who served with the Army during the Vietnam War.

“He was born in Cabool and was drafted into the Army at the age of 20 in 1967,” Heather said. “He completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, then went on to jungle training at Fort Polk in Louisiana before shipping out to Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart after being wounded in March 1968.”

After the military, he and his wife, Sherry, moved to Arnold and he went to work at the Chrysler plant in Fenton, retiring after 42 years.

“My dad was able to take part in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in August 2017,” his daughter said. “He was able to visit all of the war memorials in Washington, D.C., and was welcomed home by a large group of friends and family at the airport. It was a day he will never forget.”
