Grateful: Community’s support keeps Ott Automotive going strong
Theresa Ott isn’t waiting for Thanksgiving to express her thanks.
The spokeswoman said the business is thankful for the Cedar Hill community’s support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
The auto repair company at 8115 S. Industrial Drive has weathered the tough times so far, said Ott, who helps with bookkeeping and sales for the company’s owner, Brian Ott – her son.
“This is a good community,” she said. “We did get slow for about three months. But people called and asked how we were doing. After about three months, business picked up again. The community members all pitched in and started sending people to us again.”
The staff has worked hard to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees, she said.
“We clean,” she said. “We wipe everything down all the time – the counters, our seats, everything.”
She said while business has not returned to pre-pandemic levels, it has been steady.
“We’ve got enough business to keep our doors open,” she said. “It’s not like before, but there’s enough to keep us going. I really do thank the community for calling and checking on us.”
Ott said her son’s devotion to motor vehicles goes back to his childhood.
“Brian has built this business,” she said. “We had nothing to start with here but the building. His dad was a mechanic. Brian’s absolutely had a wrench in his hand since the age of 2.”
Drawing on her son’s dedication to his craft, Theresa Ott expressed great optimism in the future of the business as a thriving member of the Cedar Hill community and extending to anyone seeking quality automotive care.
“We plan on staying here as long as this community wants us,” she said. You can learn more about the company at its website, ottautomotive.com.
