Eureka Post 177 (21-10) will play Washington Post 218 (30-6-1) in the AAA American Legion baseball state championship today at 1 p.m. at Ronsick Field in Washington.
Post 218 beat Post 177 6-5 on Thursday on its home field. Eureka scored all of its runs in the final three innings.
Post 177 had to win two games Saturday to advance to the final. Eureka stayed alive with a 4-1 win over Oak Grove Post 379 and 4-2 triumph over Jefferson City Post 5. Post 177 got complete-game performances by pitchers Trevor Schmidt and Cade Gustafson in Saturday's victories.
