Northwest sophomore Cohenn Stark will put his 38-0 record on the line today in the 175-pound semifinals against SLUH junior Mike Williams (31-5) at the Class 4 District 1 wrestling tournament the Lions are hosting in Cedar Hill.
Stark is one of six Northwest wrestlers in the semifinals. The top four wrestlers in each of the 14 weight classes qualify for the state championships at the Mizzou Arena in Columbia on Feb. 28-March 1. Eureka, Fox and Seckman also have wrestlers in the semifinals for the second day of the tournament. Lafayette leads the team standings with 86.5 points. Seckman (fourth, 64.5), Fox (fifth, 60.5) and Northwest (sixth, 57.5) are neck-and-neck in the standings with plenty of scoring potential in today’s bouts.
