A three-time Class 5 state qualifier, Nicholls won the Cape Girardeau Central Invitational Sept. 19 with a time of 19:24.28 at the Osage Centre. The Lions finished second with a team score of 47 points. The Northwest school record is 19:15, held by Monica Haun.
