Pecoraro completed his junior year by winning the Class 5 state championship in the javelin with a throw of 57.68 meters on May 30 at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City. Pecoraro’s winning throw is a school record. Of his four throws in the finals, the winner was his only one of 50 or more meters. Pecoraro plays tight end and linebacker on the school’s football team. He is the first Fox state champion in track and field since Brad Butler won the 100-meter dash in 1994.
