With a major snowstorm about to hit Jefferson County, tonight’s Hillsboro at Festus boys basketball game has been moved to Feb. 9.
The Tigers improved to 10-4 after beating Fox 72-38 on Wednesday. Freshman guard Cole Rickermann made 9 of 10 3-point baskets and led Festus with 31 points. Senior Kobe Branscomb scored seven points, grabbed seven defensive rebounds and also had seven assists and four steals.
The Hawks (11-4) have also won three straight games and are coming off of a 75-50 win against Potosi on Tuesday. Four Hillsboro players -- Michael Brewer (17 points), Isaac Readnour (15), Mark Moore (12) and Ben Lampkins (10) -- all scored in double figures. Brewer kept up his physical play on the defensive end with nine boards there and three blocked shots.
Hillsboro beat Festus 67-51 on New Year’s Eve at the Bob Sechrest Jr. Christmas Tournament in Park Hills.
