Eureka swimmers finished tied for 21st with two other teams at the 42nd Girls Swimming and Diving state championship Saturday at St. Peters Rec-Plex.

The Wildcats garnered 32 points at the two-day event to share a spot with Glendale and Poplar Bluff. Lafayette won the state title with 224 with Rock Bridge coming in second with 220.5 and Marquette third with 201.

Eureka swimmers only competed in two events on the final day of that state meet.

Harrell was the only Eureka swimmer to compete in the singles event on the final day. She finished 13th overall in the 100 backstroke after coming in fifth in consolation finals with a time of 59.50. Parkway Central senior Madison Brown won the event in 55.49.

Earlier in the day, Eureka junior diver Ally Weis placed third for the school's only medalist performance of the state meet.
