In a county full of dominant lefthanded pitchers, Smith, a senior, has entrenched himself among the best this season. In his last three starts on the mound against Scott City (28-1), Pattonville (Class 6) and Ste. Genevieve (Class 4), Smith has allowed one earned run in 20 innings. He leads the Lancers (Class 3, 15-12) in innings pitched (44), strikeouts (62) and WHIP (1.18). At the plate this season, Smith leads St. Pius with a batting average of .507 and is tied with senior teammate Cayden Payne with 11 doubles. Smith has signed to play at Jefferson College.
