After missing the district playoffs with a broken wrist last season, the senior swing player helped the Lancers win their first district championship since 2006 with a 45-44 win over Steelville in the Class 3 District 3 tournament at Herculaneum on Friday night. In the final, Naeger had 13 points, seven rebounds and was 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. In the Lancers’ 71-54 win over Jefferson in the semifinals, Naeger led all scorers with 25 points, pulled down 11 boards and had four steals and four assists. He leads St. Pius in scoring this season with 17 points per game.
