The Blackcats improved to 4-0 this season after beating St. Vincent 51-42 for the championship of the Rolla “Duke” Herbert tournament at Crystal City on Dec. 2. Watkins, a senior point guard, was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Against the Indians, he made 9-of-19 shots from the field and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line, scoring a game-high 26 points. He also pulled down four rebounds and had four assists and three steals. Watkins is averaging 20.4 points per game.
