The senior guard made 50 percent of his shots (11 of 22) and scored a career-high 35 points in a 70-67 loss to Jefferson County Activities Association large-schools leader Festus on Dec. 15. In the Owls’ next game on Dec. 18, a 54-37 victory over five-time defending JCAA large-schools champion Hillsboro, Amabile poured in 28 points, the second-highest scoring output of his four-year varsity career. He is averaging 20.5 points per game this season.
