St. Pius X junior running back Cody Shaver carries Montgomery County’s Wyatt March into the end zone for a Lancer touchdown in the Class 2 state quarterfinals Nov. 22. Shaver carried the ball 28 times for 131 yards and increased his single-season school record to 2,776.
St. Pius (8-5) shut out the Wildcats (9-3) 14-0 and hosts Monroe City (11-1) in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m. It’s the first time the Lancers have been in the final four. The Panthers have won three state championships, the most recent in 2017.
