Realtor Andi Tidwell of Main Key Realty, 114 E. Main St., in Festus said she loves the relationships she builds when helping people find the homes or properties they need.

“It’s very rewarding,” she said.

Tidwell, a lifelong De Soto resident, said serving her community is important.

“I’m for the community. I pride myself on that,” she said. “My community involvement and business go hand in hand.”

Tidwell said she just started her second term on the De Soto Chamber of Commerce board, and she is vice president of the De Soto Dragons youth wrestling club. She also is a De Soto Little League volunteer and sponsor.

She has worked in real estate since 2019, helping people buy homes, commercial properties and land.

Tidwell said even though interest rates have been on the rise, homes are still selling quickly, mainly because buyers don’t have a lot of choices.

“The (home) inventory is low, and that won’t change anytime soon,” she said.

As a result, when a home comes on the market, there’s a lot of interest in it.

“It’s very competitive, with multiple offers,” Tidwell said.

She attributes the lack of homes for sale to the higher interest rates.

“Because of the low interest rates we had (prior to the increases over the past several months), no one wants to sell,” she said.

However, Tidwell said current interest rates are more the norm, pointing out that many people remember when the rates were much higher than they are now.

Tidwell said she loves working in the community where she grew up and still lives.

“I want to see it continue to grow and get better,” she said.

Tidwell and her husband, T.J., have two sons.
