Bill Seek, a mortgage loan originator with Flat Branch Home Loans in Festus, said he loves helping people, especially those trying to buy a home.
Seek has lived in Jefferson County for more than 40 years and has 22 years of experience in the banking industry.
Seek, a former Navy corpsman, said he strives to put his customer’s minds at ease during the home-buying process.
“There are a couple of things that worry people the most. One of them is their health or the health of their family. But the other is money,” he said.
Seek said unlike many other mortgage loan originators, he doesn’t typically market his services to Realtors, but instead gets most of his referrals from financial advisers and attorneys.
He said he works to help people in difficult financial situations purchase homes, get liquidity from their existing homes, or sometimes just continue owning their homes.
“I enjoy helping out people in difficult situations, such as bankruptcies or maybe divorce situations,” Seek said. “Honestly, I don’t really care about the size of the loan. What I care about is helping them in their situations.”
Seek said he also enjoys working with first-timers home buyers, rural residents and veterans, all have who have options for home loans with low or no down payments.
“One of the situations that people run into is they don’t have the cash for the down payment. So my goal is to help them get a home with little or no money out of pocket if they don’t have it,” he said.
