Willie Carter Stephens, 78, of Victoria died June 27, 2019, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Stephens was a regional sales representative for Glasgow Electric Co. for 28 years and retired from Ameren as plant operating engineer. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a longtime member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 148 and the Hillsboro Community Civic Club. Born Aug. 7, 1940, in Ellsinore, he was the son of the late Walter Madison and Zelphia Margaret (Johnson) Stephens.

He is survived by his wife: Norma Ann (Lanemann) Stephens; two children: John (Michelle) Stephens and Stefanie Stephens, both of De Soto; two sisters: Ruba (Alex) Keel of Florissant and Marie (George) Hermann of Maryland Heights; a sister-in-law: Gloria Stephens of Florissant; and a granddaughter: Lyla Stephens of De Soto.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Sherdan Stephens and Kenneth Stephens; and a sister: Bonnie (the late Ted) Henderson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 4810 Hwy. B., in Hillsboro, officiated by Kayla Roe. Burial will be in the Victoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc., P.O. Box 695, LaPlata, MD 20646. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
