Willa Dean Haley, 89, of Lee's Summit died June 28, 2020. Mrs. Haley was a 1948 graduate of Greenway High School and worked for 25 years at Crystal City High School, where students affectionately referred to her as “Grandma.” She enjoyed spending her time oil painting. Born April 3, 1931, in Rector, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Clyde William and Nora Bell (Dudley) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lee Roy Haley.
She is survived by three children: Linda (Jerald) Hyde, Dana (Johnny) Snider and Russell (Sandy) Haley; 11 grandchildren: Eric Snider, John Scott Snider, Jeff Snider, Danny Snider, Jennifer Hyde Ivey, Amanda Hyde Marks, Jamie Haley Combs, Tiffany Haley, Annie Barron, Christy Haley and Tracie Haley Hulsey; 32 great-grandchildren; a sister: Glenna Fay Smith Cantrell; a brother: Jim Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Barry Lynn Haley; a grandson: Michael Haley; and three brothers: Roy Smith, Alfred Smith and Ezra Smith.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. and a funeral services is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Ark., officiated by Don Bahr. Burial is in the Piggott Cemetery. in Piggott, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home.
