Wayne Michael Helmbacher, 80, Festus

Wayne Michael Helmbacher, 80, of Festus died Dec. 28, 2021, at his home. Mr. Helmbacher worked as a quality control technician for Monsanto/Columbian Chemical. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, hunting, crafting bows and arrows, and spending time in nature. Born Oct. 31. 1941, in St. Louis County, he was the son of the late Florence (Hurst) and Jerome Helmbacher.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn (Speth) Helmbacher of Festus; a son: Michael Richard (Judy) Helmbacher of Dittmer; two daughters: Tracy (Dan) Robbins of Farmington and Amy (Richard) Turner of Fredericktown; and two grandchildren: Alicia and Brock.

A memorial service was held Jan. 5 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Pastor Bryan Mills. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice Jefferson. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes.
