Wanda M. (Kist) Jones, 84, of Lakeville, Minn., died Nov. 22, 2021, in Lakeville, Minn. Mrs. Jones was a dedicated Christian and spent her early life mentoring young people through her Alpha House ministry in Festus. She enjoyed singing, quilt making, fishing and being outdoors. Born Sept. 24, 1937, in St. Louis, she grew up in Ste. Genevieve, the daughter of the late Carl LeClere and Margie Dost. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gene Jones.
She is survived by a daughter: Charlotte (Roger) East of Lakeville, Minn.; a son: Christopher (Lisa) Kist of Summersville; a daughter-in-law: Janet Kist of Piedmont; a sister: Faith Peters of Tennessee; five grandchildren: Danna Walker, Scott East, Darla East, BJ East and Christiana Kist; a special friend: Linda East; many great-grandchildren; and her beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by a son: Daniel Kist; and several siblings and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Grace Life Center, 36 E. Main St., in Festus. A reception will follow with light refreshments and desserts, where family members and friends are encouraged to reconnect.
