Wanda Lou Walker, 78, of Independence, formerly of De Soto, died March 26, 2021, at her home. Ms. Walker was a retired customer service representative, having worked several years in the cable and broadband industry. While living in De Soto, she attended Life Christian Church. She enjoyed singing hymns, babysitting and spending time with her family. Born June 22, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Pearline (Green) Jewell.
She is survived by three children: Robert (Loretta) Walker, James Walker and Debra (Michael) Russell, all of Independence; six grandchildren: Scott Reynolds, Robert Walker II, Michael Walker, Gabriel Walker, Shane Walker and Liam Walker; a great-granddaughter: Lavetta Constable; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Joyce Bridgmon; a brother: James Jewell; a daughter-in-law: Tamara Walker; and two daughters: Pennie Nicholson and Betty Reynolds.
No services will be held at this time. Memorials may be made to any local food pantry. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
