Walter F. “Wally” Klein Jr., 78, of Oakville died Oct. 17, 2022. Mr. Klein was an administrator at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of second lieutenant. Born Oct. 9, 1944, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Iris (Phillips) and Walter F. Klein Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Sharon (Ponzar) Klein of Oakville; two children: Nathanial Klein of St. Louis and Rachel (Craig Kellen) Gray of Ballwin; a brother: Stephen (Laurie) Klein of Crystal City; three grandchildren: Thurston Gray, Kellen Klein and Caleb Klein; a brother-in-law: Jim Esther; a niece: Nancy Esther; and two nephews: Jim Esther and Mathew Klein. He was preceded in death by a sister: Myrna Esther.
Burial will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
