Vivian Marie Matlock, 97, of Owensville, formerly of De Soto, died Jan. 10, 2021, at Frene Valley Stonebridge in Hermann. Mrs. Matlock was a homemaker and a member of Rosebud United Methodist Church in Rosebud. She had worked in De Soto as a hairdresser, with her own shop, and as a floral designer with Yancey Florist. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the local garden club. Born Nov. 19, 1923, in Canaan, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Annie (Rattles) Jett. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Theodore Sanders, whom she married Dec. 22, 1941, in St. Charles; and Willie "Wiggs" Matlock, whom she married Jan. 26, 1986, at Rosebud United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a stepson: Morris Ray Matlock of Columbia; a stepdaughter: Marsha McMillian of Sullivan; a daughter-in-law: Roseann Sanders of Overland Park, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Nancy Sanders; and two sons: Gary Sanders and Randall Sanders.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were under the direction of Gattenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
