Violet Beatrice Otto, 89, of Arnold died Jan. 4, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Otto was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo and watching her grandchildren playing sports. Born April 16, 1933, in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late John Riehn and Nettie Hildebrand. She was preceded in death by her husband: Hubert E. Otto.
She is survived by a daughter: Diane (Larry A. Jr.) Coulson of Barnhart; a son: Randy E. Otto of Affton; a brother: Frank (Judi) Riehn of Oakville; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Riehn of Arnold; a brother-in-law: Bud Prevallet of Arnold; four grandchildren: David Otto, Daniel Otto, Emily (Anthony) Stemmler and Kathryn Coulson; two great-grandchildren: Sophia and Peyton; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Norman (Mabelle) Riehn, Junior (Laverne) Riehn and Marvin Riehn; and three sisters: Amy Prevallet, Alice (Glenn) Robinson and Myrtle (Edgar) Unterriner.
A funeral procession will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus and travel to a service at 1:45 p.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
